2nd Cycle Community Bike Shop is about so much more than bikes!

I will double* your donations!

We are no longer accepting donations on this campaign, but there are other ways for you to support us today!

$8,175 towards $5,000

With a newly remodeled space for the bicycle recycling program, 2nd Cycle will be helping more people access safe, affordable, used bicycles for transportation, recreation, and independence.

Join me in supporting 2nd Cycle's growth into the adjacent building. By expanding into the building next door, 2nd Cycle can now work full-time on their in-demand bicycle recycling program. They will also be finishing out a dedicated space for educational workshops (when gathering together is safe for folks). Let's help everyone at 2nd Cycle really supercharge their community impact by contributing to the costs of expanded bike storage, repair equipment, pickup services, and community workshop space.

Your donation will go a long way at Second Cycle Community Bicycle Shop. I joined the board of 2nd Cycle in January 2020 because I've seen first hand the impact they have on real people in Tacoma. They offer cycling related youth programs that teach kids how to be responsible, sociable, and disciplined by building, fixing, riding, and even racing their own bicycles. They are also a friendly and professional bicycle shop where you can drop off your bike, learn to fix it, or just hang out in a safe, non-judgemental space. For 2nd Cycle, the bike is a tool for transportation and recreation -- but it is also a vehicle for personal transformation. Second Cycle Community Bicycle Shop is built around a scrappy, effective group of people who affect change in the Hilltop Community and across Tacoma.

Bicycle Donations Needed
If you have an old or underused bicycle lying around, 2nd Cycle will take your drop off (or come pick it up), fix it up so it is safe and rideable, and sell it for a reasonable cost. Bicycle recycling puts more butts on bikes and helps fund other programs. Recycling keeps bikes out of the waste stream and helps people get where they need to go. Consider donating a bike!

Thanks in advance for your contribution!
