LET'S SUPPORT 2ND CYCLE'S EXPANSION

Second Cycle Community Bike Shop has been the most empowering force in my life.

Supporting 2nd Cycle about so much more than bikes, it means providing a safe consistent space for young people to truly show up as themselves and actualizes their dreams.

Supporting 2nd Cycle means providing a space where bicycles are seen as a valid form of transportation and recreation regardless of income, background, experience, or identity.

Supporting 2nd Cycle means providing education, tools, and resources that break down the barriers and gatekeeping in the cycling industry that prevents community around bikes.

I came to 2nd Cycle in 2012 as a youth volunteer. Over the years I spent at 2nd Cycle volunteering, and learning how to work on bikes I gained so much more than mechanical skill, I was given a space where I was able to build the community a create a path for myself I never imagined. I now serve as the programs director for 2nd Cycle and have the immense privilege of passing off all of the experience and opportunities I was given as a youth in the shop, to the next generation of Tacoma's cyclists.
